We are often asked – What is a good backup? The real answer is one you have tested, know the data is there and that you can get at it. Clients often run the backup ritual on a daily/weekly/monthly basis but rarely is there a documented process to check you are doing more than changing a tape or hard drive. You have to know there is usable and restorable data in your backup files. That means knowing how to get at it and how long it should take to get your information back if the unthinkable occurs.
Do you know if your can recover from your backup files or how long it would take to recover your servers and critical data if you ever needed to?
Ask us how.
